Christian Lundwall

Christian Lundwall is without doubt the most international of Swedish designers and the most Swedish of international designers. First of all because, along with the agency Lundwall & Associates which he founded almost 30 years ago, he has been accumulating references in the contemporary hotel trade in not only Sweden and Northern Europe but also in Western and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. And then, because although he is naturally drawn to the furniture of the greatest Swedish designers and manufacturers, he does not hesitate to suggest to his clients – amongst whom the Radisson brand, the identity of which he has helped to forge through the many hotel projects which have been entrusted to him – products from the collections of manufacturers the world over, amongst whom Ligne Roset Contracts.

It was whilst converting the former IBM training centre at La Hulpe into a hotel for the Dolce Group that Christian Lundwall specified, for what is perhaps his best project to date, several products from the Ligne Roset Contracts collection for the public areas and bedrooms, most notably the Neo armchair, which he particularly esteems. And it is Christian Lundwall to whom Ligne Roset Contracts owe a debt of gratitude for the creation of the version of the Sala chair on castors: one development which will certainly lead to orders…
