Ligne Roset Contracts

Jean-Philippe Nuel

Jean-Philippe NUEL was born into a family of architects impassioned by design and contemporary creations. Having obtained his architectural diploma at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, he gained rapid recognition by winning an international competition presided over by Kenzo Tange. Shortly afterwards, he went on to design a Paris hotel in the capacity of principal contractor for architecture and interior design.

With this first mission accomplished, projects for boutique hotels in both Paris and the provinces flooded in : LE VICTOIRE OPERA, LA VILLA SAINT GERMAIN, L’HOTEL THERESE, LE GENERAL, LE DUO, the REGENT PETITE FRANCE in Strasbourg, the JIVA HILL PARK HOTEL near Geneva, and the GRAND BALCON in Toulouse, for which he was awarded the Hôtel & Lodge prize for best architect.

From then on, major hotel chains were queuing up to work with him: SOFITEL (Budapest and Paris la Défense Centre), HILTON (Evian, Malta) and the CLUB MEDITERRANEE (Peisey Vallandry); other projects are in progress for LE MERIDIEN (Paris Etoile, Brussels, Dubai), RADISSON (Nantes), WESTIN (Aqaba, Jordan), the TAJ HOTEL (India), MARRIOTT (Marrakesh) and finally two cruise ships for Iles du Ponant.

Today his agency is active in Japan, the Middle East and of course in Europe, working not only on hotel projects but also private residences, spas, concept stores and restaurants.

The collaboration between Jean-Philippe Nuel and Ligne Roset Contracts grows ever stronger as they work together on a range of hotel projects such as the hôtel Duo, Paris, the Sofitel in la Défense, the Tonic in Marseille, the Avenue Lodge in val d’Isère and the Jiva Hill, Geneva. Their partnership was further strengthened by the release of the Luca collection (chair, bridge, small and large armchair, settee, bar stool.)
