Ligne Roset Contracts

Marie-Christine Dorner

Tokyo, London Paris: cities in which Marie Christine Dorner has spent years, and which have shaped the direction of her career. A graduate of the Camondo school, she was to design her first collection of furniture in Japan at the age of 25. She recently settled back into life in Paris.

The human being is at the centre of her work: the surrounding objects are silent friends, with which a privileged relationship is woven. This constant element in her creative process, along with her interest in local traditional skills, to which she brings her own refined sensibility, are translated into an eclectic range of projects: urban design, interiors, furniture, tableware, lighting and jewellery.

She made her mark with the interior architecture of the first design hotel in Paris – the Villa in Saint-Germain des Prés - along with that of the restaurant at the Comédie Française. She also designed the Crash low table for Ligne Roset and a complete collection of bedroom furniture (Puddle) for Ligne Roset Contracts, which was presented in November 2008 at the Sleep trade show, on a stand she designed herself.
