20 years after Ligne Roset Contract manufactured the Eric Raffy seating for the restaurant of his father, Michel Bras, Sébastien Bras entrusted Hanika Perez and Brice Genre with designing the seating he wanted for the refurbishment of his 3-star establishment in Laguiole. And naturally put his chosen designers in contact with the original manufacturer.
Hanika Perez and Brice Genre can probably tell us the most about this chair:
"We designed a seat which was inspired by the kind of chair with armrests from country interiors that would have been made more comfortable by the presence of a garment draped over its back.
The armchair gives substance to the simple and delicate relationship between a turned wood structure and its fabric covering. Designed as a discreet and welcoming host, is a humble companion to the table setting and the wider restaurant space.
The experience and expertise of Ligne Roset in the creation of bespoke pieces, echoed by the attention to detail they shared with Maison Bras, enabled them to implement the design and the specific characteristics of this new model.
We focused our attention on how to elegantly solve the functional issues related to the use of the armchair in a 3* restaurant: sit comfort, removability of covers, armrest height. We used noble coverings and materials - leather and fabric, solid beech – and made them compatible with care and maintenance requirements. The specification for the cover, designed as a garment, required precise adjustment of the cut, with particular attention paid to the lining, to the detail, to the sewing and to the drape of the leather.”
